Cruz-Diez Monumental Physichromie

Carlos Cruz-Diez, one of the most significant kinetic and optical artists of the twentieth century, created Physichromies. These are works in which color transforms as the viewer moves. Installing a monumental Physichromie requires understanding not only the physical dimensions of the work, but also the relationship between the work and the specific light conditions of the space it will inhabit.

This piece measured more than six meters in length. Our role went well beyond the installation itself. We prepared the house, worked directly with the collector to understand their needs, and studied the structure so that every step was planned with precision.

This project is also personal. Andrea worked six years at Articruz, Cruz-Diez’s own studio. Today, we continue to collaborate on projects with his foundation.
